A Landlord In Seattle Claims That Rent Skippers Are More Prevalent Than Ever.

Rent skippers, according to Seattle landlord Carl Haglund, have increased as a result of the limitations put in place during the pandemic. Haglund argues that the recently adopted city regulation makes it more challenging and expensive to remove the tenants in accordance with this COVID restriction. Haglund brought up the case of one particular tenant—KING 5 will withhold the tenant’s name—who allegedly hasn’t cleaned up after his animals in months. According to Haglund, the tenant has also been paying rent after the due date. It is stated that at least 10% of the landlord’s numerous tenants are late on their rent.
